It is true that the grass is greener on the other side. When college radio was my hustle between sophomore and senior year, I didn’t see beyond the three mile radius of the station’s broadcast signal. My outlook changed once I became a student of the music industry for two consecutive years at the annual CMJ Music Marathon.
College radio is still very dear to me. After graduation, the College Music Journal was as clutch as Nielsen Soundscan reports, and Billboard charts during my tenure as Complex‘s music editor. They booked me as a panelist, to speak on the topic of convergence between rap and skateboarding in 2007. This week, I reach a new plateau accompanying Theophilus London on a string of performance dates. This is our second official outing together since I supported the Brooklyn show-stopper for the final leg of A-Trak’s 10,000 lb. Hamburger tour, the Diesel U-Music concert, and Amsterdam‘s Applesap festival. Click below to RSVP for our lineup of CMJ shows. Remember, support new music.
