There aren’t enough hours in the day for DJ Treats. Everytime the house lights go up after a night of spinning, my work is not finished until I’m satisfied (monetarily, to say the least). That’s why I now work part time at Sweet Melissa’s Patisserie in Brooklyn. When Mickey Factz, Theophilus London, Jade or myself are not entertaining the masses, I can be found at the Court St. location, waiting tables and serving ice cream to sundaes. Everyday I’m hustling.

It was a seamless transition, picking up the side job at Brooklyn’s prized restaurant/cremerie. Like chef/owner Melissa Murphy, who has been in the food service business for over ten years, I too have presented a platter of treats—musical ones—that have become a staple to my loyal New York following. This week’s candy profile is different from previous reviews; rather as an overview of the outpost that caters to your sweet tooth. Stop in daily for special promotions, like today’s menu in observance of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur: Beehive Honey Cake, Holiday Apple Cake, and Macaroons. I personally cosign all of them.
